8kun is just another watering hole

Back in the days before 8ch existed, anons on 4chan /pol/ talked about why 4chan was important. Anons were not loyal to moot (4chan’s founder), anons were not emotionally married to 4chan or somethingawful or any other edgy site. One anon wrote that each edgy site was comparable to an individual watering hole, and the anons were like the Mongol hordes. The Mongols would not be stopped if they lost the benefits of any particular watering hole; the Mongols could move to multiple different watering holes. Like the Mongols, anons were happy to flee from disadvantageous battles, but then regroup and swarm to concentrate presence on new locations. Likewise, this anon continued, it would not matter if 4chan were to be destroyed — the hordes would simply ride elsewhere. Anons openly defied moot’s leftist policies by posting Nazi images on 4chan /pol/ with various degrees of sarcasm.
Eventually moot purged /pol/ of anything that seemed Nazi-like by the simple expedient of deleting /pol/ altogether; thus 8ch arose. Anons on 8ch continued to post Nazi jokes. For a while, before 8ch got rid of the mod known as Fastjack, 8ch flourished, and eventually 8ch /qresearch/ became the most shocking source of political memes in pop culture. For a few years, the Nazi memelords and the Trump-idolaters coexisted on /qresearch/. Eventually 8ch became 8kun; at some point Fastjack was deposed. Currently 8kun /qresearch/ has a staunch anti-Nazi attitude, which does not matter much: the most shocking memes are posted on a variety of other sites. 8ch /qresearch/ has not been the cutting edge for a long time. The Mongol hordes ride past it and sometimes water their horses there, but the center of gravity has shifted. The old Nazi memelords are still in the wilderness, each little tribe repeating its own version of The Tell.
If some international coalition of Sutlers could ever succeed in shutting down freedom of speech all over the Internet, then net-savvy anons could be destroyed. Anons still jealously guard their freedom of speech against such a calamity, but at this moment it appears that the Sutlers of the world have bungled repeatedly and their plans are in disarray. Currently 8kun is probably near the end of its useful life; it is likely that 8kun /qresearch/ will lose all relevance by February of 2025. New watering holes are likely to rise as 8kun declines. But for the moment, this substack will share selected content from 8kun /qresearch/.
